I for one appreciate short ads with the <<Plug>> in the header appearing on
this list from time to time. There have been several times that I have
forwarded these to my manager after seeing what others on the list have had to
say about a product. I will agree that it is good list etiquette to include
the <<Plug>> notice so if some one does not want or have the time to read the
ad they can choose to delete it. In addition I have not noticed any huge
flood of vendor postings, unless people are counting those postings made by
vendors when they are answering questions. I certainly do not count a reply
made by say Wirt Atmar on how to solve a CI programming question as a vendor
ad. To me such a case is clearly a posting made by a very knowledgeable
HP3000 user who also happens to be a vendor of HP3000 wares.
        Just my $0.02.
