hi all!

i'm doing a restore using a indirect file and the ';local'
option.

the indirect file contains a list of fully qualified files
where the first record contains the name of a database root
file and the following records contain a select (but
imcomplete) list of datasets for this database. (as you
might be inferring) i'm wanting the files restored somewhere
else.

two things...
 - when i start the restore (and i'm logged on as the
account manager of the 'new' account, i get the following
(rather alarming!) message from restore:
<file.group.account> NOT RESTORED: FILE NOT FOUND ON MEDIA
...for every file in the indirect list. (i can *assure* you
the desired files *are* on the tape.)
 - *but then* the restore procedes to restore the entire
database!

<geesh> i guess the ';local' option is causing some of this
confusion...but why the 'rather alarming' warnings? should
i be (also?) using ';partialdb'? - 'a rather
confused' d
