Hi,

I was wondering whether there are experts out there who have connected their
HP 3000
to the Internet using a relatively cheap solution such as Linux.

I approached Interex and I thought this topic would make for a great article
in Interact. Since I am not a guru myself, I am throwing out this idea to
the HP community.

The article could cover some of the following issues:

1. Hardware needed on the HP end (say for a DS1)
2. Configuring the hardware and software on the HP end.
3. Configuring Linux as a router and as a firewall.
4. Some discussion on the different technologies e.g. frame relay, ISDN, etc...
5. Configuring newsgroups.
6. How does the HP interface with Linux?

I would be willing to help research this issue further and write the article
together with the guru. However, in terms of resources I only have access to
an HP-3000 and to Linux, but not much else besides my interest in this topic.

If you are interested in writing the article, please let me know at (416)

Thanks,
