I can't think of an easy way to do in MPE, but in MPEX you can do this:

%repeat

%  setvar file_name_num rht("!MPEXCURRENTFILE",3)
%  if numeric(file_name_num) then
%     <whatever>
%  endif

%ForFiles IHOCS###
