Hello fellow Compuserve users,

This last week we received several e-mails with attached files giving a
window with the message "HMI Protocol Error Data write error". This has a
catastrophic affect and closes our Compuserve connection. It is possible to
retrieve these messages on an individual basis minus the attached file
giving the error. This negates our automatic procedures for sending and
receiving messages and causes "E-mail Rage" at the receiving end. We
already have enough "Internet Rage" and "PC Rage" each day without adding
additional aggravation.

Why this phenomenon has suddenly started is unknown to us and its continued
persistence is disturbing. Are we the only users affected or is this
condition being experienced by others?

Any enlightenment would be welcome with the objective being the elimination
of this error in future e-mails.
