Hi Fred, Welcome to the platform. To learn lots about the HP3000 you might
consider going to the solution symposium ... see http://www.interex.org.

In the HP3000 environment there are several approaches to source code control.
Here is an off the top of my head list of tools.

There is RCS built into the Posix interface for MPE so you already have one on
site,
HP has a product called HP-SRC for Source Revision control (we have some
experience with this) that they stealth market (ie you must know the part
number to order it - if you need it drop me a note)
There is Librarian which used to be from OCS - it is from Tidal software today.

If you are doing cross platform development take a look at the Diamond-Optimum
(recently bought by Serena) suite which will help for cross platform
development in an HP3000, HP9000 and NT space. See
http://www.serena.com/htmlshock/echange.htm

Some folks use Source Safe and transfer the files to and from the target
platforms.

Another Source Code Management (SCM) tool is MKS Source integrity (see
http://www.mks.com/products/scm/si/ )

It depends on what you are trying to do, how big the team is and how
disciplined they are ... don't forget to check in makes/builds, test data,
documentation (user, internal and external specs) ...

Other tools that might help - SCompare (like dif but better for comparing
source and finding differences) from Aldon and Robot from Productive Software
which gives a cross reference of source.

Hope this helps ...
