Our experience with Oracle consultants found their knowledge for 'other'
operating systems to be very limited. 'Other' systems in this case included
Windows NT!!! (Supposedly a CORE system for Oracle). I don't know then
what systems these consultants *are* most familiar with, but I suspect Unix
must be what they learn on.
I also had a staff member who left to work for Oracle as their 3000
installation specialist (though at the time we had never used Oracle) - his
first task upon starting there was not a training class, or even working on
an existing installation...it was booth duty at a trade-show exhibition.
Cheers.
