Well, there may be two possible solutions.
1) use the outbound Telnet to perform the task using redirected I/O.
2) Randy Medd at Telamon <[log in to unmask]> wrote a "remsh" program to
permit Unix commands to be issued from MPE.
 
I've not tried (1) and have read there may be problems with this.  With (2),
I think (but am not sure) he contributed it to the CSL.  The only possible
problem may be concerning security.  "The term 'Unix security' is, almost by
definition, an oxymoron"*(Unix Haters Handbook).  Naturally remshd, being
Unix based, may require some serious compromises on any security mechanisms
you have in place.  Still, it sounds the best fit for what you want to do.
