Subject: Bad Drives..
When our programmers logged on the test box this morning, files, groups,
etc. seemed to be missing and the system eventually 'hung'. With HP's
assistance, I did a shutdown, memory dump and a restart, which worked fine.
In the mean time, one of the towers were making an awful racket, heard
outside the server room. Our hardware vendor is here now and is telling me
that we have a drive problem on our System Volume Set and we have to do a
re-load.
I have the fullback tapes, last nights incremental (from the full backup),
and the CSLT. We do "directory" option on the 'store' command... It's been
years since I've had to do this. Any and all pointers would be appreciated.
