For anyone that is interested:

I was told to look for problems in my DNS (which was working ok,
according to my PC's, but you never know), but befor I had a chance to
even try, SAMBA started working.  Yes, that's right ALL BY ITSELF.  I
may never find out what was wrong, but I glad I didn't have to spend
any more time on it.  I swear that I had not touched the computer
since I fail to get SAMBA to operate, do the fact that it started
working is beyond me.  Anyway, false alarm I guess.
