Look at the price list. There is no 'trade-in' involved. There is simply a
credit towards the price of the developer's kit which you get if you happen
to already own the C/iX compiler. I seem to recall that HP *changed* the way
this works at some point. I think (and all this is very hazy memory, so I
hope someone at HP who reads this can clarify) that originaly the idea was
what Jeff&Chris would like to see. The C/iX compiler would go away (get
traded in in effect) and be replaced with the Posix Developer's kit (which
is amond the hardest products to find in the price list, but it's there!).
I think I remember someone at HP telling me that there ended up being a problem
with this (probably related to the support?), and it may be that the developer's
kit itself does not actually include the C/iX compilter now.

Now when I talked to my support contracts person at HP after doing this
'free upgrade' at Quest, I was told at that time that even though the upgrade
is free, I was still going to have to pay *support* on both items, and that
the Posix Developer's Kit also added a new 'Application Level' support charge
to the contract (as though it were something like MM3000) that would apparently
cost enought that it included an additional response center caller!! I left
Quest before ever getting the contracts finalized, so I don't know how it
turned out.

Unfortunately nobody at HP understands this stuff either, which is probably
why nobody has jumped in to set us straight yet :-)
