Gentle listers, two questions...

1) I'm looking at possibly buying a couple of Seagate ST15150N SE SCSI disk
drives, but I'm being told that for MPE to see the drives, they have to be
blessed with an HP part number (maybe meaning HP firmware onboard?), which
more than doubles the price. Can anyone verify or dispute that?

2) Once I set one of those drives' address jumpers and add it to my 957SX's
SCSI cable and declare its path (52.6.0 fregzample) to be the primary boot
path, will an INSTALL take care of any preformatting etc that's needed, or
should I take some unknown preliminary step to make the drive usable?

TIA
