Thanks to all that replied, I double-checked my httpd.conf file, and the
"server-info" section in question was indeed uncommented, but Apache
steadfastly refused my entreaties for server "info".
After peering about at why including the "/server-info" handle does not
work, it appears that I do not have mod_info compiled into my Apache
1.3.20 code thanks to my on-going (and often graceless) attempts to get
suEXEC working on my machine.
Running httpd with the show-me-what-modules-you've-got-loaded switch
("-l") gives me:
run HTTPD.pub.apache;info="-lf /APACHE/PUB/conf/httpd.conf"
Compiled-in modules:
http_core.c
mod_env.c
mod_log_config.c
mod_mime.c
mod_negotiation.c
mod_status.c
mod_include.c
mod_autoindex.c
mod_dir.c
mod_cgi.c
mod_asis.c
mod_imap.c
mod_actions.c
mod_userdir.c
mod_alias.c
mod_access.c
mod_auth.c
mod_setenvif.c
suexec: enabled; valid wrapper /APACHE/PUB/suexec
END OF PROGRAM
The last bit shows I'm starting to get closer -- Apache does load my
suEXEC code, but suEXEC performs a resounding Bronx cheer when asked to
do anything of substance. Later I'll have to figure out why mod_info
didn't make the draft... Odd, that. Ahhh well...
"Once more into the breach dear friends, once more..."
Thanks,
Curtis
