I was going to post a piece of the Store Manual here but I couldn't get
it to work.  Anyway, lookup the MAXTAPEBUF option for store.  It says
that store normally uses a 16K record size and you can use 32K with this
parameter.  It also says, "Don't use it if you are going to restore using
a tape drive that doesn't support the large record size".
 
The only tape drives that HP lists as not supporting the large records
are the 7974 and the 7978.
