  I was considering un-retiring my 3000/42 and putting to use crunching
web stats.  The web server would log to the serial port (connected to the
3000) and the 3000 would read in the data, strip out pertinant
information, and update an IMAGE database on each read.  The 3000 would
also be set up to generate HTML tables that could be downloaded by the web
server (via another serial port) at regular intervals (for updated stats
pages).

  Doing web stats at the end of the month takes FOREVER and can kill any
of our servers.  The 3000 is spare, and could do it daily.  Our access
logs for web avg 250-500MB /mo.  If it's spread out and streamed directly,
it should be just fine I would assume?

  Would a 3000/42 w 4MB RAM be up to it?  I guess I could always try...
