I am interested to hear anyone's success story about living (as a computer professional) without using any Microsoft Windows at all.

Running Microsoft applications on a non-Windows platform would be OK, but I'd like to here about survival sams Microsoft as well.

As an example, I need to browse the web, access POP3 email, do word processing, spreadsheets, print to my OfficeJet, and maybe even build and upload complex web content. Bonuses: burn CD-ROMS, view streaming media.

Would also like to know the relative costs for software. (What does Excel for Linux cost compared to Excel for NT?)

-Dave
