Edward,

What else can you tell us about these two disk drives? For example, do you
have "user volumes"? Are they perhaps "masters"? Try doing a "dstat all"
as system manager and tell us the results.

Thanx,
        Jon

Subject: [HP3000-L] Max IO queue in Glance

I've been noticing something strange on our computer and wondered if y'all
might be able to provide some insight or pointers...

According to Glance, at some point today there were 225 IO's queued for LDEV
32. Yesterday at some point there were 161 IO's queued for LDEV 43. (All
11 drives on our system are 9gb scsi drives.)

That amount of queued IO's seems WAY to high, but we've had no reports of
performance problems.

Unless this is somewhat normal, is there any way to figure out what is
causing all of this IO queuing, or even track down when it occurs?

(System info: 979-100, MPE/iX 6.5, Image with Omnidex, Minisoft ODBC, Image
logging to tape.)

Thanks in advance.

later,
Edward Berner
