We got one of the first 950s ever.  I took training on a 935 (actually a
generic 3000/9000 box labelled "Indigo") on MPE/XL 0.x.  Our 950 came with
XL 1.0 and we later were a beta site for 2.0 (or 2.2?).  The 955, 960, and
980 are all board-swap upgrades to the 950.  But as Jon notes, there is
some amount of unique code to support the 960 (if nothing else, setting values
for hpcpuname and thiscpu).
