I've not seen any indication myself that HP-UX has any plans whatsoever
to deviate from the Sun standard.

HP is reported to be building a clean-room implementation of the Java
standard, but the impression I get is that this will be an embedded
implementation designed for LaserJets and similar devices, and not
something that would run on either HP-UX or MPE.

Any HP implementation of Java for server or workstation systems, whether
derived from Sun code or not, is likely to be fully compatible with the
Sun standard anyway. What possible benefit to HP would there be in doing
anything else?
