I attended the course here in Germany.

Perl/iX / C++ are Freeware ... but work! They are not shipped by default.
Java / Samba will be officially supported and are shipped by default, as
far as I understand.

The good thing for this course: Lars Appel was the (excellent) trainer!

Best regards, Andreas Schmidt, CSC, Germany

Subject: New Features and Functions of MPE/iX 6.0

I just received my letter from HP inviting me to attend the MPE/iX 6.0 New
Features course as a part of my PSS support.
I poked around on the web and discovered the course outline at:
        http://www.hp.com/education/courses/h3072s.html
One of the modules is:
Module 8 - New Program Development Tools
JAVA on the HP3000
SAMBA on the HP3000
PERL scripting language on the HP3000
C++ on the HP3000
Vplus Scrollable Picklist
Allbase/SQL's string function
The new POSIX enhancements
The new COBOL enhancements
I wasn't aware that Perl and C++ (I'm assuming gcc here) are now official
new features of 6.0. :-)
Has anybody attended yet? What exactly does the course say about Perl and
gcc?
