Hi folks,
I'm having problem with the rm -r command not removing nested directories in
the POSIX domain. I'm pretty sure there's a patch for the following
problem - anyone know the patch ID? Here's an example:
shell/iX> pwd
/POSIXTST/PUB
shell/iX> mkdir level1
shell/iX> mkdir level1/level2
shell/iX> ls -lR .
.:
total 1
drwxrwx--- 3 MANAGER.POSIXTST POSIXTST 320 Jan 15 16:08 level1
./level1:
total 1
drwxrwx--- 2 MANAGER.POSIXTST POSIXTST 224 Jan 15 16:08 level2
./level1/level2:
total 0
shell/iX> rm -r level1
rm: cannot remove directory "level1": Permission denied
shell/iX>
The correct behavior is for the directories to be removed, but rm balks.
This system is running 5.5, and since SWINFO is missing (a loaner machine
from HP) so I'm assuming no patches have been installed. I've tried this
other systems running 5.5 and 6.0 and rm -r works fine. Thanks for any leads
or pointers.
