1) The official name of the product that we supplyto the HP market that
does the ODBC connection is called the DataExpress ODBCLink(tm) Option.

The version that HP is licensing replaces the functionality provided by
the HP-PCAPI in 16 and 32 bits ... it does NOT go directly against IMAGE
as suggested by Ken's post ...

<PLUG> to go directly against Image you can use our DataExpress product
including the ODBCLink(tm) option.

<end Plug >

2) Transact/Dictionary 3000 Users

Ken we have just completed making the DataExpress dataviews available to
the ODBCLink interface - a side effect of this (I wish I could say that I
had planned it this way) allows users of the Dictionary 3000 product to be
able to include any data defined in Dictionary 3000 as accessable from our
DataExpress ODBCLink(tm) option.

This also gets folks KSAM, MPE, IMAGE, Robelle SD files,
DataExpress-Subfiles, Powerhouse subfiles ... etc. to be accessable from
ODBC applications via the view as well.

We included the Field value security in this implementation so we can
restrict access (filter by) a value in a field chosen from the view ...
the feedback from the testers is a resounding YES!!!

If you have questions please send me a private note ...

Thanks and Best Regards,

Birket
