 (getting out my old fogey hat...) i remember way back when on my series
70, i wrote a little cobol program that used recursion.  the complier
complained but i can't remember anymore how badly :-).  i'm reasonably
sure that on the old classics - recursion could cause you to blow your
'stack' (so to speak :-).  i'm wondering if that's still a problem...?  i
guess
you'd have to think quite large in this case....but?         - d
