MS Access to IMAGE via ODBCSE

I've spent days going through much documentation with no luck and I'm hopeful
someone can answer a question for me before I do any more troubleshooting.

Using Access 2000 via ODBC/SE to an IMAGE/SQL database and I'm  **linking** to
IMAGE  (as opposed to importing the data).  In Access, I can open a table
(dataset) in design view but I get an error message when I try to open it in
datasheet view, which is really what I want to do.

Question is:  should I be to open it in datasheet view ?  I've made sure the
table has one unique key. If my problem is an error and not a feature, can you
point me in the direction to correct it.
