we've been on 6.0 for about 6 months and haven't had any problems other
than a situation with FTP and files with data in the file label.

I am surprised, since I have several clients who are on 6.0, and they have
had no problems whatever.  We have not upgraded to 6.0 here yet, but will
next week.  Can you provide details on your problems?
