I am aware of the full employment for lawyers concept.

I am still not sure you have it clear what I am saying.
Maybe you got it but now choose to digress.

For the example you gave of your fathers associate to
fit what happened to this student, here is what would
have happened.

The associate saved the victims life.
The victim thanked him publicly in the news.
The system came along and said A RULE HAS BEEN
BROKEN, we have to suspend your license.
The victim says to lay off, and the license is
suspended anyway.

Jay's comment about the trial lawyers association
has some merit.  They pay to have their agenda
serviced and sometimes it gets done.  They are no
worse than other organizations in this respect,
but for this particular issue the TLA is the
offender.
