HP 3000 division purchases OpenSkies

Harry Sterling announced today that the HP 3000 division (CSY) has
purchased OpenSkies Inc., the supplier of airline solutions running on
HP 3000s. The purchase of the privately held company for an undisclosed
sum makes the Salt Lake City-based company an operating unit under the
direction of Sterling’s division.

Sterling said he signed the papers to consummate the sale earlier today
(October 22).

CSY marketing manager Roy Breslawski will become the Open Skies
marketing manager, and CSY’s lab R&D section manager Jim Sartain will
assume the lead technical role in the newly acquired operation. Sterling
said he was already interviewing to replace Sartain and Breslawski at
CSY. “We started that two weeks ago,” he said. “We’ve got a couple of
strong candidates lined up already.”

More details in a few hours on the NewsWire's Web site. Subscribers
should already have a more complete report in their e-mail boxes.
