The following happened yesterday....

We had a HP Powerwise L900 UPS go bad on us. Ok...so to get it fixed, I
called 1-800-633-3600 -- the response center. We have practically
everything on some sort of service contract so this is where I called
first. The unit was purchased in March of this year and therefore is still
under warranty. Now...since the unit is still under warranty and has no
service contract I was instructed to call 916-785-1200. This number then
led me to someone who told me to call 800-538-8787. This number then
led to 800-243-9812, which in turn led to 800-227-8164 which in turn led
to 916-783-0804 which in turn led to 800-322-4772 which in turn led to
800-752-0900 which FINALLY led me to 970-635-1000. This wonderful
(?) process took me thru 12 people and 2 1/2 hours on the phone to have
someone send me a replacement unit...tis a good thing we had a spare to
work with...hmmm...2 1/2 hours on the phone.....this was the same
amount of time it took to watch Independence Day...are the aliens really
here.
