You don't have a "MSG file" problem; you have an *application* problem.
Whether or not this condition should be reported this way has been debated
numerous times over the years, but it is, and applications should deal with
it properly, instead of treating it like other "you can't use this file"
errors. If your application doesn't, there's little you can do until you can
shut down the applications using the file. Sorry.
