I just got back home from it. I thought it was great. I asked how many were
registered and was told 300. I think Dave Wilde had the most interesting
presentation of the morning session. Conversion kits are extended until 2006
EOS. There is currently a 0% APR for 12 months. The platinum sponsors for
migration are Lund, MB Foster, and Speedware. A free timeshare on a HP-UX
box starts the end of April. Sign up at: http://jazz.external.hp.com/pads .
HP will also have a web interface where you put in the name of the MPE
command and it will display the UNIX equivalent. There is also a HP-UX
loaner program, you can loan the box for up to 6 months, you have the option
to buy it at a substantial discount after or return it. They have yet to
address the additional need of storage to go with the loaner box. (I
mentioned that). So, they will work on coming up with a storage solution.

BTW, I sat at a table with Ron Evans at lunch. I'm not sure if this list
ever got the answer to how many shares Interex owns, but he told me 100. Not
a big deal. He said if he had known it would cause such a problem, they
would of purchased just 1. There has been a lot of negative talk on this
list lately about Interex, and it appears to me that he does have genuine
concerns regarding the 3000 community. As far as those who were upset with
Interex's decision to support the merger, Interex did not receive a single
letter from a member stating that they were against the merger and wanted
Interex to support that position. I'm sure if you had known that they had a
few shares and were going to vote, you might of given them your opinion. I
don't think it's a reason to drop your membership, especially after seeing
the quality of the program that they have put together.
