I must admit that I get a huge chuckle from an ad currently running on TV
(ok, on CNN, since I don't watch network TV)...  Some poor schmuck is
commenting that he's still running a proprietary UNIX system (and implying
that he's in deep doodoo)....  Ah, the days when HP et al were touting the
openness and universality of UNIX, foretelling the doom about to meet the
3K and MPE.  I do hope all of those people who fell for that rhetoric,
expending vast sums of $$$ to eliminate any dependence upon *proprietary*
stuff, are choking in their beer, or buttermilk, or whatever stuff they are
drinking to put their past decisions out of mind.
