   You're not losing your mind (at least regarding this instance :).  I griped
about the batch vs online functionality of listf a few years ago, when Jeff V.
was asking this bunch about listfile output/functionality/etc.  At the time
listf,6
stuck in a showtime in batch, where listf,6 online didn't.  I requested the
output,
regardless of mode, be identical, thus 1) not having to determine if the CI
script that did the listf,6 to a temp file was running in a batch job or
online, and
2) making arrangements to skip the first line if reading input and you're
running
in batch-job mode.  This I figured would simplify the writing of scripts and
more
to the point managing them.  So my question is, is the output of listfile,6
the same
in both batch and session?

   Disclaimer:  I don't know if my suggestions influenced Jeff's excellent
work.
