You will need to scratch and rebuild the volume set to which this device
belongs. The volume table would still contain this volume otherwise. If it
belongs to the system volume set, you are facing an install. With an
install, only Ldev 1 will belong to the system volume set. You can add the
others with VOLUTIL's NEWVOL command.

So, if I want to eliminate the disk drive that is bad, is it as simple as
using sysgen to delete the device, creating a new slt tape and then using
the slt tape and a recent full backup to get the computer back to normal
(minus a little space). Am I missing some steps? What are the steps? TIA
