Richard,

The wait state denotes 'MSG'. Is it possible that this process is
attempting to read a message type file that is empty there fore hanging ?
Just a thought.

Subject: Re: [HP3000-L] Another ABORTJOB question - MORE

Hi

I had to reboot the machine, in the end.

Now it's happened again, where this is the only process on the machine:

%showproc pin=26
QPRI CPUTIME STATE JOBNUM PIN (PROGRAM) STEP

                      #s3, rb0023,mgr.virgin,temp (ldev 3)
B100 0:16.803 MSG S3 26 (QTP.PH839C.COGNOS) auto=paxxx.prog

I've tried aborting (job and IO) and switching priority queue, but it's
stuck again.

Why ? please help.

Subject: Another ABORTJOB question

I'm sure this has been on the list numerous times, so I'll apologise in
advance.

I have an annoying situation on the HP, that seems to happen all too
frequently. I was running a QTP that was accessing the database. For some
reason it froze and I couldn't manage to break the program. The problem is
now that the session still exists on the HP and is locking the database.

I have tried Abortjob and of course this doesn't work. I've tried doing an
ALTPROC, but MPEX doesn't think the process exists. Can someone remind me
how I can get rid of this session without having to do a reboot.

Thanks in advance.
