Kim,

Same old advice.

Check for bent pins in the cable and replace the terminator.

Good Luck,

Acting quirky.  Put tape in, not recognizing it.  IE showdev 8 still shows that it is available.  Do store to it, showdev 8 give it as unavailable, SYS

    8     UNAVAIL       SYS

Did an abortio 8, and it will finally release it.

HP came out and replaced.  Same symptoms.

Sometimes the tape will show mounted (last nite), but then when the store job runs, it keeps asking to mount a tape.  Or once yesterday in testing, it kept asking me to answer a reply that the tape was on that device...  when I reply, keeps coming back with same request.

Anyway, HP tech thinks there is a command to force the system to recognize the tape.  Short of reboot, any ideas out there ?

If a reboot fails, then I'm thinking we have a board problem....
