We have a utility on our FTP server that we call LPRESET for Logon Prompt
Reset that allows you to change the system logon prompt on the fly
without rebooting. It will let you put in a multi line logon message (2
comment lines and a logon prompt.) We use this feature to put our
security message in the logon prompt instead of after the user logs on
(see the recent thread on "Welcome" in you logon message.) There is a
version for 4.0 and 5.0, have not yet tested it on 5.5. Our logon prompt
looks something like this:

This is a private computer system operated by Beechglen Development

You can pick this program up in HP's UHAUL format from our website at
http://www.beechglen.com. Enjoy!
