Although I appreciate the comment, I'll point out that it
simply puts the tape back online ... it doesn't tell you
if there is a tape in the drive!

If there is no tape in the drive, then it will generally
hang until a tape is inserted.

If you want it anyway, get it free from www.allegro.com/software/
and look for "ONLINE".
