Well thanks to Wirt, I am now part of the "sky searchers" helping  "find ET".
I set up both of the PCs at home to assist in the data analysis.
Boy is there a big difference in the speed of a Pentium 133 with 32MB and a Pentiun 233 with 64MB.

While looking around their web page, I was suprised at the average compute time listed for Win machines verses
those running Linux.  Now I am searching for a free copy of Linux to see if I can replicate the difference.
Anyone know where I can download a reasonable stable and easy to install version?
