This reminds me of the articles series in Interact where George Stachnik
provides an ongoing "Introduction to MPE/iX for complete novices" (don't
have the exact title at hand, but you get the idea). If you haven't yet
noticed it, then it's time to have a look. In my opinion it is very well
done (as usual for George ;-) and educational as well as entertaining to
read. Find details on Interact at the http://www.interex.org web site.

By the way, George's (free) Technology Close-Up videos can also be helpful
to get some introductory overview on various topics, so they might qualify
as (very cheap ;-) training materials, too. See http://www.hp.com/go/tapes
for details.

Regards, Lars.
