Laserjet II spooling

Once again I need help.  I have 2 laserjet II printers which lose their
spool when a paper out is not replenished within about 10 minutes.  In
all other respects, both printers run without problems.  One is direct
connect to DTC and the other is a network printer.  I have tried running
a startspool job every 10 minutes on these 2 printers without success.
What other options do I have?

As always, thanks to the list for any help and suggestions.
