John,
Found this link and it appears that the '4-way handshake' has to do
with wireless communications.

This is way out of my area of expertise. Foumd the above link
by googling 4 way handshake.

Subject: [HP3000-L] MPE Know What 4-Way Handshaking Is
Good afternoon from South Texas -
Quick question - does MPE know anything about 4-way handshaking(8.11Ieee - I
think)? We are trying to talk to a credit-card bank processing center in
real-time and they seem to think we need to provide the "4-way" to shutdown
the background job 'gracefully'....I am blue in the face explaining...NOPE
don't need to from my end.
Thought I would ask before, I kick in the "HURT" factor on the unsuspecting
young man who can't spell HP.
Thanks
John
