You should use 5.0 Push, PowerPatch 2 (C.50.02) and existing things
should be just fine. As for your additional questions...

This is an apple and oranges proposition. Novell operates under IPX
protocols, while WWW is a TCP/IP application. Even putting Portable
Netware/iX on your 3000 will not get you access to WWW; instead you
need to get TCP/IP transport stacks on the PC clients (which can, with
the right stacks, co-exist with your Novell transport). However, you
will get the additional TCP/IP transport on the 3000 with MPE/iX 5.0
that you need to run a WWW server. You can serve http documents "as is"
with no special additions, but if you want programmatic access (forms
and cgi-bin scripts) you may need the Posix developer's kit which also
includes the C/iX compiler [This may change with GNU C++; Mark?]

I've been using httpd (WWW) on the 3000 since it was made available. The
only "bad" thing I can say is that performance is poor on a 3000/950, and
still not much better on a 960. Bear in mind, though, that these older
machines are not that powerful relative to the 9x7, 9x8, and 9x9 systems
so it may not be an issue for you. In the same breath, I should also
note that the underlying problem (fork() performance) is being addressed
by the lab and will improve significantly in 5.5 next year.

Finally, I'd like to thank HP for the excellent WWW on the 3000 demos and
presentations at Interex. The general user community at last had a chance
to see the 3000 in a very different light!
