I was reading a recent issue of Time magazine - they had an in-depth
article on Karl Rove, George Bush's political advisor, and they dealt with
Bush too.

Rove until he worked with Bush was a political advisor for hire, much like
James Carville or Lee Atwater.

Once he worked with Bush Bush wanted him exclusively...

So anyway I am looking at a 1980s picture of Karl Rove in his Texas office -
actually a computer room and what do I spot next to the 100s of 2400' reels
hung on the wall?

Some HP 3000 disk drives.

I know next to some of the distinguished list members I am a relative newby
as to HP lore but I did recognize either 7925 or 7933 drives.

So depending on your political persuasion you can either thank or blame the
HP3000 for our current state ;-)

Another bit of trivia - Bush is a 9th cousin to Hugh Hefner - I'll dig up
the date of the issue if anyone's interested...

BTW Happy new year to everyone - I spend New Years Eve on the couch - have a
bad cold (or as Benny Hill would say "ever hear of a good cold?"

I've been getting in touch with my feminine side watching Oprah and Dr Phil
while recuperating - they have some interesting topics...

Bill
