Hi folks,

We have an N-Class 400 that we are bringing
online. I'm setting up the network printer settings
in sysgen and npconfig. That's easy for me...

What's puzzling, is a printer I figure is set up correctly
does the following when I sent a test print file to it...

NED(SYS): spooler 1607;stop
NED(SYS): 14:39/373/Output spooler, LDEV #1607:  Stopped.
NED(SYS): spooler 1607;start
NED(SYS): 14:39/252/Output spooler, LDEV #1607:  Started.
NED(SYS): prtest1.pub.ops 1607
NED(SYS):
NED(SYS): 14:39/252/The variable was not found in the variable table.
variable management message 8106

14:39/252/The variable was not found in the variable table.
variable management message 8106

14:39/252/The variable was not found in the variable table.
variable management message 8106

prtest1.pub.ops is a command file that does this:
+++++++++
PARM !A
FILE LP;DEV=!A
PRINT TEST1.PUB.OPS >*LP
+++++++++
test1.pub.ops is the following file:
+++++++++

THIS    IS    A    TEST!!!!!

THIS TEST IS BEING SENT FROM THE "NED" SYSTEM!!!!!!

PLEASE CALL INFORMATION SYSTEMS AT ###-####.

+++++++++++++++

entries in the npconfig file are

global  (program_file = OUTSPTJ.PUB.SYS
         message_interval = 3600
         banner_header = FALSE
         banner_trailer = FALSE)

 ... < other printers> ...

1607    (network_address = 10.1.35.62
         setup_file = MTENV.HPENV.SYS)

++++++++++++++++++
sysgen settings:
++++++++++++++++++
 LDEV:  1607  DEVNAME: 00001607           OUTDEV:        0   MODE:
OS
 ID: HPTCPJD RSIZE: 66 DEVTYPE: PP

 PATH: NONE MPETYPE: 32 MPESUBTYPE: 0

 CLASS: NISS08
++++++++++++++++++

Perhaps this is TMI (too much info)
but does anyone know what the message

"The variable was not found in the variable table.
variable management message 8106"

is and why I'm getting it on the console
when I print to the printer?
