Thanks first to the many efforts and responses by various hardware vendors
concerning the problem I was having
locating a Channel Adapter for a 980 that would permit booting from SCSI
devices.  The correct board was located
by my primary vendor <plug> Genisys Corp in Redmond WA. < end plug>.  For
the archives so anyone else who is
thinking of doing the same thing, the rev number that  permits SCSI booting
is 30191-60007. This is not actually a
firmware revision but an entire board revision. This number can be found by
holding the board with thumb tabs up
and the component side facing you and looking in the upper right corner.
