I have a file which inlcudes a X60 field which may contain the sequence
of the following four
characters, one after the other (no other characters in between):
   period space '31 letter 'b'
By '31 I mean the ASCII character with decimal value of 31.

I couldn't figure out how to specify the Suprtool pattern matching 'if
statement' such that
only the records containing this character sequence are selected.

The problem seems to be how to specify a character constant having
embedded control characters.
