I was only 25 months old when this happened, and it is one of my earliest memories. I certainly didn't understand the gravity of the situation then but my family was camping in Florida at the time, and I remember standing in front of a store window filled with TVs watching the landing. Nobody was moving on the sidewalk, we were all just watching through the window.

The only memory I have that I can distinctively place before this was the rain storm at the campground a few nights before where my dad had to stand outside and hold the tent down because the winds were so strong, and the tent steaks were not holding in the sandy soil. What a night for pop.

My, my - how I miss Wirt! I'm sure he would have posted something to
the List about the historic moon landing 40 years ago today.
Any comments from those of us who remember that day - where we were,
how we saw the photos, etc?
