Hi Jim & Francois :)
Bouncer will indeed do what you want... I have used it at multiple locations in former lives... IIRC SRN used to have a "Nugget" (Emerald package?) The HPTIMEOUT variable has the constraints as Francois (sorry keyboard doesn’t French letters right hehehe). You might also want to search the Interweb for Tim Ericson's utilities and scripts... (of Willamette Dental Group Fame!). Tim had a lot of great tricks and things he had written over the decades (YES! DECADES!!!) of HP 3000 work :)

Jim,
You can set the HPTIMEOUT variable to the number of minutes of inactivity. If I remember correctly, the session will logoff if the user is sitting idle at the CI prompt. If they are waiting in a program (a menu, a user app, a tool), the timeout will not happen. For these situations, you likely need an extra piece of software such as VEsoft's Security or write your own monitoring tool. I believe there was something called "bouncer" in the contributed library (cobwebs and dust off) which may be nearly impossible to find. Allegro may have something in their toolbox.
Good luck.
François
