Yep, and watch the border!  The Virgina State cops would often stop
you coming out of DC and confiscate any liquor you might have bought
in DC (DC had no "state" liquor tax - I don't know if it is still that way).

The suspicion was that the DC liquor dealer got a bounty for calling the
Virgina cops.

Don't know if this is all true, but i did know somebody who was stopped
and had all his liquor that he purchased in DC confiscated.

Yes, I lived in Virginia 25 years ago.  Those were the days.
