A long time ago, more than 12 years ago, we
used a system called Defender and it did just that.
When you called in you entered a code and hung up.
It would call you back. It was based on a Compaq transportable
computer. I do not recall the manufacturer, as this
was several jobs ago.

Subject: Dial back modems - how?
Would like to know:
What can we do that would provide a dial back modem on an HP e3000?
A dial back modem will hang up on a caller and return the call of only
valid
users. This reduces the chance of improper access.
Willing to look at vendor solutions.
